Got my first gig teaching yoga to some Crossfitters. Those dudes are SO tight in their shoulders and hamstrings, have little body awareness, but they are psyched to learn more yoga. I love learning from them while I teach. It is such a great experience.
ALSO- this past weekend in teacher training, we split up into groups and taught each other. We took turns, the first day I was a little nervous, though I got good feedback. The second day, we had to teach everyone again, but this time the “students” had to wear blindfolds and we had to instruct them into poses using only our words. This was a difficult exercise, but I took it slow, and ROCKED it. I felt so great, and not falling back on my demoing really helped me find my voice.
Afterwards, my teacher came over to me and said “you have improved each and every time you teach. that was fantastic”. And I have been on cloud nine too. Another girl told me “You are clear and really believe in us. I feel like you have a lot to teach me, and because you believe in me, I feel like you could instruct me into any pose.” I am finally excited about this journey- like deep down empowered. Let’s go!
